CREASION officially handed over the Draft Solid Waste Management (SWM) Bill for Kohalpur Municipality to Ms. Sangita Subedi, Deputy Mayor of Kohalpur Municipality. The draft bill was presented by Ms. Roshna Subedi, General Secretary of CREASION, marking an important milestone toward strengthening integrated waste management systems at the local level.
This initiative aims to support evidence-based policies and practices that promote resource efficiency, reduce waste leakage into the environment, and contribute to Nepal's transition towards a net-zero carbon future.
The draft legislation lays the foundation for a more systematic, inclusive, and climate-resilient approach to waste management in Kohalpur, ensuring that environmental sustainability remains at the heart of local governance and development.
