On 09 December 2025, CREASION officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the ISO-certified Tilottama Municipality under the GreenShift Nepal Project. This collaboration aims to accelerate the transition of plastic waste into a circular economy at the local level. 

The MoU was signed in the presence of Mayor Ram Krishna Khand, Deputy Mayor Jageshwori Devi Chaudhary, Chief Administrative Officer Khumlal Bhusal, and Environmental Engineer Yubraj Panthi, alongside representatives from CREASION and its consortium partners, Restless Development Nepal and Youth Innovation Lab. Together, the partners will work closely with Tilottama Municipality to implement sustainable waste management practices and youth-led environmental initiatives. 

Key initiatives under this partnership include the establishment of four Climate Smart Schools, mobilization and strengthening of youth groups within the municipality, and engaging youth to identify, analyze, and address gaps in local waste management and circular economy practices. Additionally, the collaboration will support the formulation of a local-level Solid Waste Management Framework and promote circular economy initiatives through youth entrepreneurship. 

The project is designed to empower youth and students by providing awareness, leadership training, and hands-on opportunities for participation in environmental solutions. Through this approach, Tilottama Municipality aims to reduce plastic use, minimize environmental impacts, and move toward a greener, more sustainable community. 

This partnership marks a significant step toward a cleaner and more circular Tilottama, showcasing the potential of youth-led initiatives in driving local-level environmental change.
