The third distribution of the Waste Workers Emergency Relief Project was successfully conducted on May 21, 2020 at Bhaktapur. 60 waste workers were provided with ration materials, general awareness sessions and medicine packages.

The event was conducted in the facilitation of Women for Human Rights (WHR). Before the distribution, the waste workers were provided with awareness on general hygiene, use and disposal of gloves, masks, reusable pads for women and also about the use of the medicines provided to them such as paracetamol, jeevanjal and so on.

The waste workers expressed keen interest in understanding the right way to use their protective gears and practice the right hand washing technique. The awareness session proved to be effective in inculcating hygienic practices to them. The awareness session was followed by relief packages and medicine distribution.

The activities were conducted under the Waste Workers Emergency Relief Project that is initiated by CREASION and supported by The Coca-Cola Foundation. The project is an initiative to ease the lives of waste workers who are in the front line during the COVID-19 crisis and at great risk due to the nature of their occupation.

The distribution and further program is set to be conducted for other waste workers as well in the coming weeks.
