Chitwan, Nepal – April 20, 2025 As Earth Week begins around the world, a timely and impactful milestone unfolded in Nepal — the official inauguration of the Plastic Recycling Facility (PRF) under Project CAP in Chitwan. Though the timing aligned with Earth Week, this event stands on its own as a critical advancement in the country’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental resilience.
The inauguration ceremony marked a proud moment in Nepal’s efforts to combat plastic pollution, and was graced by the presence of several esteemed dignitaries and sector leaders:

The event was chaired by Mr. Aanand Mishra, Founder and President of CREASION, whose visionary leadership continues to guide impactful environmental action across Nepal.
Project CAP (Collaborative Approach for Preventing Plastic Leakage in Rivers and Oceans) is a multi-stakeholder initiative that addresses plastic waste through systemic recycling solutions, grassroots engagement, and institutional support.
The project is funded by PLEASE (Plastic Free Rivers and Seas for South Asia), implemented by the South Asia Co-operative Environment Programme (SACEP), supported by the World Bank, and executed with implementing support from UNOPS.
